Camden New Journal - Letters to the Editor
Published: 3 January 2008

Beyond Christmas

• WHILE more people shopped on the internet than attended church this Christmas, there can be no doubt that Britain still has a strong Christian heritage.
Even the scientist Richard Dawkins confesses to singing Christmas carols, and believes children should grow up with a knowledge of the Bible.
So, how about it? Read the Bible in 2008. Those of all faiths and of none would benefit from rediscovering the beliefs and values that underpin much of our history and culture.
For any who want to take up the challenge, I’d be happy to provide a plan which I’ve used for some time, enabling you to read the whole Bible over the course of a year.
