Gallas helps Arsenal’s charity goal

ARSENAL captain William Gallas spread festive cheer over Christmas when he delivered a whopping £140,000 to the club’s charity for this season, TreeHouse.
Part of the Be a Gooner, Be a Giver initiative, the money was raised through various match-day activities during Arsenal’s Premier League victory over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
As well as the players, directors and staff donating a day’s pay, there was also a special raffle with signed items from players – including a pair of Emmanuel Adebayor’s football boots.
The donation was also bumped up with 50p from every match programme sold being contributed to TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education.
Arsenal’s partnership with the charity has now helped raise £175,000 towards the £250,000 target to fund TreeHouse’s sports facilities within the all-new National Centre for Autism Education, which is currently being built in Muswell Hill.
Dressed in a bright red Santa suit, Gallas was delighted to hand over the amazing gift.
He said: “Christmas is a time for giving and I am honoured to be able to present this money to TreeHouse on behalf of all those who made a contribution around the Chelsea match. We have two targets this season, to win some silverware and to raise £250,000 for TreeHouse.”
