Seasonal showstoppers

IT was the Baby Jesus and a bit of Bugsy Malone as Camden’s schools put on their Christmas shows.
While the nativity story was top choice among primary and junior schools, New End School in Hampstead reached for the comedy splurge guns instead for a production of the all-singing gangster musical.
And pupils from Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children in Swiss Cottage melted hearts with a rendition of The Grinch That Stole Christmas.
Elsewhere, pupils gave nativities a little update. Shepherds wore trendy sunglasses at St Michael’s School in Camden Town, while the angels at Holy Trinity and St Silas were streetwise rappers. More traditional productions were played out at St Dominic’s in Gospel Oak and St Aloysius in Somers Town.
