Bedsits arson probe

POLICE launched an arson probe after a fire at a block of bedsits in Belsize Park on Tuesday evening.
One man was rescued from the first floor after firefighters scaled the Glenmore Road building.
The block is close to the home of TV presenter Gail Porter. She said: “We were having a nice evening out and returned to find four fire engines and loads of police on our street. I thought it was our house.
“I like to speak to all my old neighbours but I never met anyone who lives in that house.”
Her partner James Lloyd added: “This road’s pretty crazy for a quiet street.”
A man and a woman, both in their 30s, have been arrested and were yesterday (Wednesday) questioned by police.
