McClaren must be on his way out ... only one man can be new boss!
I MAGNIFICENTLY skippered the Camden New Journal football team on Monday night in wet and blustery conditions.
The team was held to a draw by a group of flabby Labour politicians for charity. One of our goals was unfairly disallowed and we should have won. It wasn’t a win, but my incisive
decision-making as a football manager was noted by all. In fact, it got me thinking.
The argument against sacking England Steve McClaren is often: who would you get to replace him? Howsabout me? Let’s compare.
McClaren
Wins: Won the meaningless League Cup with Middlesboro.
Losses: Loads. Easy qualifying group. He had about three last chances and he messed them all up.
Crunch decisions: Tried to rescue the Croatia match last night with Spurs’ second-string strikeforce of Bent and Defoe. What did you expect?
Osley
Wins: I won the championship on the PlayStation.
Losses: None. Unbeaten as manager of Camden New Journal football team.
Crunch Decisions: I lead by example, playing as a Franco Baresi sweeper to ensure against a leaky defence. We only conceded nine on Monday night.
In short, my undefeated record speaks for itself. McClaren can’t hold on any longer. Brian Barwick, you know where to find me..
SO Martin Jol has been forgotten by Spurs fans, eh?
He will never be forgotten by us. Not ever. But what are we supposed to do here? Slate Juande Ramos and hope he gets us relegated just so we can all look smug?
What utter nonsense – we’re still Spurs fans and we still desire success for our club.
In the real world the club’s board make the decisions; sometimes we like them and
sometimes we
don’t, but we have no choice other than to accept them and move on.
Martin Jol is out, Juande Ramos is in – that’s it and there’s nothing we can do about it. What we do instead is get behind the new manager and see if we can’t climb up that table a bit.
I keep hearing old Gusty Poyet talking about suring up the defence with these three clean sheets in four. Another mastermind stroke from Levy that was – getting the new manager in just in time for a four-game run against Blackpool, Boro, Tel Aviv and Wigan.
Is there anyone out there who seriously thinks Jol wasn’t capable of getting three wins and a draw from that lot?
This week, West Ham away will be a proper test of the difference.
I’m not saying we can’t go there and do the business, I’m just saying the jury’s still out.
