Cup holders Reddot take a breather after a monumental demolition of Tevekkeli

Dot’s 18-goal warning shot to cup rivals

CHALLENGE Cup holders Reddot rewrote the record books on Sunday when they stormed to a massive 18-1 victory over Tevekkeli at Hackney Marshes.
Paul Reid and Liam Barnabie both netted hat-tricks, while Jason Medford, John Donovan and leading scorer Steven Bruce bagged two goals apiece.
Also on target were John Yates, Jon Dowsett, James Ricketts, Martin Lovejoy, Micky Dowsett and Adam Nicolaou as the Dots recorded the biggest ever win in our Camden New Journal Challenge Cup, eclipsing their best ever result in the Camden Sunday League, which previously stood at 12-0.
Reddot will now face CS Maritimo in the quarter-final after they came from a goal down to seal a narrow 2-1 victory over MDM.
Filip Caetano levelled the scores, before Mark Archer popped up to score what proved to be the winner for Maritimo.
Phoenix are also through to the last eight after a resounding win over Os Lusos.
Despite going a goal behind, strikes from Johnny Boreham and goal-machine James Cole gave Phoenix the lead.
Dean Burke made it three with the goal of the game, before Terry Rowland and Dean Syer added their names to the score sheet to seal a 5-1 victory.
DOM also progressed with a 6-0 win over River Fleet. They will be joined in the quarter-final by Archway Allstars, who beat AFC Shooters 7-2, and Desportivo, who sealed a thrilling 5-4 win over Surreal Madrid.
