Camden New Journal - by RICHARD OSLEY

Search for firm draws blank

THE contractor which worked on the key panel of the wall cannot be traced despite investigations by detectives, the Health and Safety Executive and Camden Council.
Records have been trawled at Companies House, and the Town Hall has scoured receipts, work dockets and old contract documents. “We did look for Chatterton at Companies House,” said HSE investigator Michael La Rose. “I wrote to the addresses and the directors’ names that were with that listing but we have had no response.”
He added that, in terms of a potential manslaughter case: “There is no person that can be pursued in that way.”
Catherine Illingworth, an assistant housing director at Camden, said Chatterton began work for the council in 1995 but she was unable to confirm whether it completed a contract that ran until 1999.
She said: “Records become slightly patchy when you got back that far.
“We have been looking at our records but we have been unable to ascertain any more.”
