Gunner Girls on target for Euro glory

ARSENAL Ladies finished top of their qualifying group to book their place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup after tackling three games in just six days.
On Tuesday night goals from Julie Fleeting, Lianne Sanderson and Kelly Smith saw the Gunners’ girls seal a pulsating 3-3 draw against Italian champions Bardolino Verona at Meadow Park.
The draw followed a resounding 7-0 win over Austrian champions SV Neulengbach on Saturday. Fleeting and Jayne Ludlow both bagged a brace, while Karen Carney, Katie Chapman and Ciara Grant were also on target.
The Gunners started their campaign on Thursday with a 4-0 victory over Kazakhstan champions Alma KTZH. Carney fired Arsenal into a comfortable lead with two goals in five minutes, with Chapman and Sanderson completing the rout.

THREE second-half goals in 15 minutes saw Town suffer their fourth defeat in five games on Sunday when they were undone by Watford Youth at Regent’s Park.
The visitors displayed some exquisite finishing as they clinched the points needed to go joint top. Kath Wickens netted a consolation for Camden with a free-kick in the final minutes of the match.
Meanwhile Katabella were unlucky not to share the spoils from a difficult match at the Frederick Knight’s Sports Ground.
Spurs dominated the first half and raced into a 4-0 lead courtesy of two goals from Natalie Arbuckle and strikes from Hayley Graham and Fiona Butterfield.
The Kats reduced the deficit with goals from Jen Coupland and Franziska John. The Camden side could easily have earned a draw, with both Emma Roberts and Rachel Ojelade missing good chances.

Under-11s: Hamspstead 10, St Joseph’s 1


TWO goals apiece from Abby Mills, Caitlin Taylor and Lauren Lucas saw Hampstead hit double figures on Sunday with a resounding victory over St Joseph’s. Lilly Best, Lulu Szego, Maddy Payne, and Lotte Bridgham were also on target as Hampstead ran riot.

SUPER sub Isabelle Smedley scored the winner on Sunday as Hamps continued their unbeaten start to the season .

Under-13s: Hamspstead 1, Forest Utd 3


A STRIKE from Hannah McWilliams wasn’t enough to prevent Hampstead ­losing their first game of the season on Sunday as they were beaten 3-1 away against Forest United.
