Surprise victors: Moorehouse savour the moment after their shock win over Reddot
Reddot let the lead slip away

Moorehouse twice come from behind to seal memorable victory

MOOREHOUSE caused a big upset in Division One on Sunday when they twice came from behind to seal a surprise victory over Reddot at Hackney Marshes.
Reddot got off to a flying start when Paul Reid added the finishing touches to an impressive team move to open the scoring. Moorehouse pulled level when Emmanuel Jonjo headed home from close range, but the Dots regained the lead courtesy of a composed finish from TJ O’Leary.
Moorehouse showed their battling spirit as they again fought back to equalise, this time through Bedel Guei. With the game heading for a draw, Adolfo Thavede popped up to net a late winner to hand Moorehouse an unlikely three points.
Cobden Athletic made the most of Reddot’s slip up as they beat AFC Brasenose 3-1 at Regent’s Park to take over at the top of the table. Pat Jones opened the scoring with a superb shot from outside the area before Joe Thompson added a decisive second. Brasenose pulled a goal back, but a well-taken goal from Harry Pedersen sealed the points for Cobden.
Phoenix are also vying for top spot in Division One after they stormed to an impressive victory over Os Lusos. Dean Burke bagged a brace, while leading scorer James Cole continued his unstoppable form with his 10th goal in six games. Two own-goals and a stunning strike from substitute Aron Kennedy completed the rout as Phoenix ran out 6-1 winners.
Meanwhile in our Camden New Journal Cup, league newcomers MDM stormed into the second round with a 7-0 victory over Surreal Madrid. They will be joined by Archway Allstars, who beat Tergemo 3-1 thanks to goals from Hartley, Keohane and Sheilds.
