Ben Humphrys
Olympic hopeful keeps his focus to clinch archery title

OLYMPIC hopeful Ben Humphrys was celebrating his latest trophy success at the weekend after beating the best in Britain to win the under-16s Compound Unlimited British Field Archery Championships.
Despite being only 13 years old, Ben showed maturity beyond his years as he saw off competition from across the country to clinch the prestigious title, hosted by the National Field Archery Society.
Ben left contenders trailing in his wake as he finished a staggering 300 points clear of his closest rivals to win the gruelling two-day event in Wales.
In one day alone, the Highgate youngster managed to hit 19 mini-spots out of a possible 35 – a target no bigger than a £2 coin.
The William Ellis schoolboy has now set his sights on representing his country after being invited by the Great Britain Archery team to take part in a series of testing trials at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall, Shropshire later this year.
