Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 11 October 2007

Yes please, minister

• YOUR intriguing article on the land behind the British Library must have left your readers, like us, with a number of questions (Minister throws down gauntlet on Brill Place, October4 ).
The “draft” letter from minister Margaret Hodge – later withdrawn – suggests the Department for Culture, Media and Sport needs to get its house in order.
If the minister wants to hand over to Camden the final say on who to sell the land to, we’re all for it.
But it would be nice if she told us.
Until we hear otherwise, it is the DCMS that will decide who to sell the site to.
If that sale goes ahead, we’ll then use our planning powers to check that any proposed development has the right housing, employment and community facilities for King’s Cross and for Camden as a whole.
Cllr KEITH MOFFITT
Leader
Cllr Mike Greene
Executive Member for Environment
