Sporting Ambassadors will play key role in Olympic bid

INSPIRATIONAL youngsters Lucy Nicholas and Jay Kirton were beaming with pride this week after being unveiled as Camden’s Sporting Ambassadors.
The delighted duo will work within the Camden School Sport Partnership to promote sport and help encourage the borough’s future coaches, volunteers and medal winners to fulfil their potential.
Part of a nationwide programme celebrating London’s hosting of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in 2012, Lucy and Jay will embark on an exciting role that will see them go into schools across the borough to talk about the Games and how everyone can get involved.
They will also help organise sports festivals and advise youngsters about the benefits of teamwork, fair play and eating healthily.
A keen footballer, Lucy, who attends Camden School for Girls, was named as Camden’s Volunteer Ambassador following countless hours taking part and promoting various sports.
Meanwhile, William Ellis schoolboy Jay, who is the current under-15s world karate champion, will offer future sports stars that cutting edge as Camden’s Athlete Ambassador.
