Teddy fun with Lottie Ellis, Shayna Russell, Harley Harrison and Santi Iglesias at St Aloysius

Simply having a wonderful Christmas time

CAROL singing at Sunday mass in St Aloysius Church, Somers Town, was followed by a lively fair in the hall last weekend.
Up to 400 people joined the fun including dozens of youngsters from the neighbouring infant and junior schools.
Father Jim McNicholas said: “ We raised a lot of money for the church funds and had a very good turnout.”
The Christmas fair at Hampstead Parochial School raised more than £2,000 towards school funds. Father Christmas paid a visit to the Heath Street school while adults were entertained by the school choir and movers and shakers from the after-school dance troupe. A spectacular array of homemade cooking and crafts were on sale at the Hampstead Community Centre this weekend.
The centre’s manager Emma Brooks said the fair was a success and that money raised was going towards the centre’s running costs and to support the various community groups that regularly use the centre.
The party atmosphere at Highgate Newtown Community Centre reached new heights on Friday when pensioners sat down for their annual Christmas meal.
Entertainment at the bash lasted all afternoon and included a performance by trapeze artists, live music, carol singing by youngsters at Brookfield Primary School and a conga train round the hall.
The centre’s manager Nick Roxon said: “Everyone is commenting on what a good day they’ve had. We raised £850 at a jumble sale in November and that money has been put into holding the party.”
Maggie Cosins said: “People from all the different groups that use the centre are involved today including the under fives and the youth academy groups. This a very close community and this is one of many excellent events we have here each year.”
