Missing: Shanaz El-Syed
Plea for missing school pupil

A FOURTEEN-year-old girl who has not been seen since she walked out of school over a week ago is being urgently sought by detectives increasingly concerned for her welfare.
Officers from Camden’s missing persons unit have appealed to Shanaz El-Syed to contact her family and reassure them that she is safe.
Shanaz left Camden School for Girls at lunchtime on December 12 wearing a pink and black dress over blue jeans, and carrying a blue Nike rucksack.
Det Sgt Paul Jones from Camden police said Shanaz’s family, who come from the Drummond Street area, were very concerned.
“They’re worried sick, because they’ve not had any contact with her,” he said. “It’s very unusual for her to have run away like this.”
He believes that Shanaz is probably still in Camden, but she does not have a mobile phone or any access to money.
“I encourage Shanaz to contact her family to let them know she is safe or for anyone who has seen or spoken to Shanaz to contact the police on 0208 733 5485 or the Missing Persons Helpline on 0500 700 700.”
