Music victory for actor

TV actor Gary Love has won the right to open a live music bar in a grade-listed building in Regent’s Park, against the wishes of residents.
Mr Love, who has appeared in Soldier Soldier and London’s Burning, has worried residents that his hotel Magnolia will attract the wrong “sort” of person to their quiet family streets.
Radio presenter Sue Macgregor, who lives near the building – formerly The York and Albany pub – in Parkway, was one of the objectors. She said: “There is little question that late music and a late licence will attract the sort of customers to the area who normally frequent the pubs and clubs at the Camden Town end of Parkway and in Camden High Street.”
But at Tuesday’s licensing meeting Mr Love was granted permission to hold live gigs up to 15 times a year in the basement of the Grade II listed building.
After the meeting Mr Love’s business partner Rajendra Saiker said they would scrap plans for amplified music.
