Tupper bags place in final
TALENTED boxer Paul Tupper booked his place in the final of the Golden Gloves Championships on Saturday after overcoming Joe Denwood at the Knottingley Leisure Centre in Yorkshire.
Triumphant Tupper, 14, (pictured) started brightly, knocking his Essex opponent to the canvas in the opening round.
Competing in the under-36kg weight category, Paul, who lives in Tufnell Park, went on to outpoint Denwood over three two-minute rounds.
Tupper will now be looking to put on a show-stopping performance when he takes on Midlands fighter Joe Purley in the final on Saturday in Liverpool. |
