Anaconda’s top finish

MEMBERS from Anaconda Swimming Club ended their year in style on Saturday with an impressive second place finish in their final gala at the Venue Sports Centre in Borehamwood.
Bringing a close to their second year in Division One of the Speedo League, the team of talented youngsters set a series of new club records as they went out in a blaze of glory.
Competing in the under-12s category, Sarah Taylor-Reid made waves when she won the 50m breaststroke in a club record time of 39.76 seconds.
Sarah, 11, then joined forces with teammates Kathleen Bartha, Harley Greer and Olivia Brady to set two more club records in the 4x50m medley and freestyle events, finishing first and fourth respectively.
The under-12s boys’ team of Joe Grubb, Dominic McLoughlin, Andrew Boadi, and Padraig Lynch were also in top form as they sealed a record-breaking time in their medley race.
Anaconda’s under-16 team of Daniella Hole, Abigail McNeil, Emma McCarthy and Katie Medhurst clinched a first place finish in their 4x50m medley relay. A feat mirrored by the club’s Open team of Chris Short, Brett McLean, Wayne Lock and Csaba Vinkler.
There were also a string of tremendous individual performances, with Daniella Hole, Abigail McNeil, Katie Medhurst, Wayne Lock, Julia Taylor, Sadie McMahon, Jane Leighton, Katie Tomlin, Kathleen Bartha, Dominic McLoughlin, Josh Wright and Brett McLean all picking up impressive finishes.
