Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 14 December 2006

Cynthia Passini reunited with Buchan
Tail with happy ending

• I WANTED to write and let your readers know of a very pleasant experience I had yesterday when my dog Buchan – a large black Labrador – somehow escaped through the garden gate from my garden just off Heath Street in Hampstead and disappeared.
Hampstead was buzzing with traffic, busy shoppers and families enjoying the Christmas lights. Everybody was very sympathetic, but nobody had seen the dog. About two hours later I got a call from David, whose Pet Mobile was parked at the end of Downshire Hill offering fully Heated Dog Wash etc., to the quantity of very wet and muddy dogs coming off the Heath. Yes, he had Buchan!
He had seen him come off the Heath, very wet, cross East Heath Road on the crossing and make his way up Downshire Hill.
David thought it wasn’t quite right for the owner not to be around, so he caught up with Buchan and then rang me.
David’s instinctive and sympathetic help was an incredible relief to a somewhat by then frantic dog owner.
He wouldn’t take any contribution towards his business so I hope your dog-owner readers might like to know about this kind man.
