Fencers make a final point

MEMBERS from Camden Fencing Club put on a series of commanding performances in their final outing of the year at the Leon Paul Junior Series London Team Tournament, which was held at Copthall School in Mill Hill.
The club's under-15s team of Daisy Mann-Peet, Grace Wenkins, Oscar Frandsen and Billy Beckett just missed out on the medals as they finished fifth after narrowly losing to Westminster Schools all boys' side.
In the under-13s category, Max Woollard, who normally competes at the under-11s level, Jessica Frankly, Camille Etchart and Mark Howe overcame a lack of experience within the ranks to seal a respectable sixth place finish.
Meanwhile the under-11s team, led by the girls' National Championships bronze medallist Ava Martinez, acquitted themselves well as they claimed a top 10 finish.
Promising youngsters Daria Koren, Rebecca Drake and Alex Howe all gave a good account of their growing swordsmanship as the team finished the day in ninth place.
