Court challenge for £2bn KX plan

CAMPAIGNERS fighting to halt the giant redevelopment of the King’s Cross railway lands warned developers last night (Wednesday): “We’ll see you in court”.
The King’s Cross Think Again (KXTA) group agreed to press ahead with their plans to force a judicial review against Camden Council’s approval of the £2 billion revamp.
Developers Argent can only be stopped by a High Court ruling after getting backing from the Town Hall, Mayor of London Ken Livingstone and the government.
But KXTA is a group made up of various concerned parties including conservationists fighting to save historic buildings from demolition and campaigners who say the new development will not create enough new home, is determined to push the issue all the way.
They argue the council’s decision was flawed and will fight it out in the courts.
Ernest James (pictured), from KXTA, said: “We agreed to go ahead with the judicial review. The application will go in. There will be a fund-raiser at a Camden venue fronted by a well-known Camden personality who recently presented a TV programme on heritage.”
