Harry Gitter

In last week’s article ‘Change law and let me sell heroin to addicts’ we mistakenly said that pharmacist Harry Gitter of Macey’s in Lismore Circus wanted to “sell” heroin to addicts. At no time did Mr Gitter express an ambition to sell heroin but would be interested in fulfilling prescriptions and offering a safe environment for people who have a medically certifiable addiction and are undergoing a treatment programme, provided that he had received the appropriate training.
This service would not necessarily be provided at his Lismore Circus premises. We are happy to make this clear. We are happy to clear up any confusion this may have caused.
