Young guns’ run goes on

Premier Academy League Under 18s
Charlton 1, Arsenal 1

THE young guns of Arsenal continued their unbeaten start to the season on Saturday with a 1-1 draw away against Charlton.
Coached by former Arsenal defender Steve Bould, the squad are battling it out with Chelsea for top honours.
The draw ends Arsenal’s winning streak of 10 successive games, which saw the Gunners take a one-point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand.
They took their winning streak into double figures with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Ipswich in their previous game.
Striker Jay Simpson netted his fifth goal in three games to give Arsenal an early lead, before midfielder Kieran Gibbs made the points safe.
Meanwhile the Gunners have been drawn against Wycombe Wanderers in the third round of the FA Youth Cup at Barnet’s Underhill. The tie is due to be played before December 16.
