More to do at Brunswick
• I FULLY agree with the New Journal's comments about the transformation that has taken place at the Brunswick Centre (Camden's shame, October 26).
For years it has been neglected. It was a gray and wasted landscape, an eye-sore, in which prostitution and drug dealing was rife, people were frightened to walk through the centre in case they were mugged. It's interesting to hear what people have to say after the refurbishment has taken place.
It stands, however, in startling contrast to what has been allowed to happen to the internal structures leading to the flats, which have been neglected for years.
What we have is called window dressing - what people can see on the outside has been renewed but what we have on the inside is blatant neglect.
Whenever it rains we have to paddle to get to our flats. The walkway levels of the top floor don't take the rain away.
The rain can remain on the corridors for days on end. Many areas have been left to rot and are disgusting. Even prisons have better conditions to live in. What I say is let's stop the window dressing and improve living conditions so we can all take pride in where we live and not just deal with the needs of the multi-national companies.
