‘We must face up to cruising’

GAY cruising on the heath is “completely unacceptable” and should not be permitted to extend beyond the West Heath, according to Hampstead heath boss Bob Hall.
Speaking at a meeting of conservation group Heath Hands in Kenwood House last night (Wednesday) Mr Hall, chairman of the heath’s management committee, said the issue was one bosses had to face up to.
He said: “The law as I understand it does not prevent consenting adults acting in that way on the West Heath.
“The City sometime ago took the decision it would not prevent that from happening.
“There is unfortunately an area in the men’s compound where nude sunbathing is permitted.
“But we will not permit an extension of it on the rest of the Heath. The cruising issue is completely unacceptable.”
