Feet first on the Heath, please
•WE are a group of individuals who enjoy pedestrian activities on Hampstead Heath and are against any increase in the number of cycle paths there.
We are dedicated to preserving the rural and tranquil nature of this piece of countryside; we want it to remain a safe retreat from urban life, where pedestrians, old and young, can wander, run and play in safety.
We are not anti-cycling, and we favour an increase in cycle paths on our roads, but we believe that the Heath should remain a pedestrian haven. We are therefore launching the ‘Heath For Feet’ campaign, in order to be able to make representation of the views of Heath pedestrians to the City of London Corporation. The Corporation is currently involved in a consultation exercise that will lead very soon to a decision on whether or not to increase cycle paths on Hampstead Heath. This decision will have a profound effect on Hampstead Heath, now and in the future.
