Soccer kids get a taste of big time at Arsenal

YOUNGSTERS got a taste of what it’s like to train as a professional footballer on Saturday when they joined in the fun at the Arsenal Soccer School, which is being held at Haverstock School.
Scores of talented nine-to-15-year-olds were taken through their paces at the school in Chalk Farm as professional coaches helped improve all aspects of their game.
The sessions, which are being held until mid December, are aimed at teaching aspiring young footballers all about the beautiful game, including the right way to warm-up and how to stretch.
Players were also given the chance to improve their ball skills, as they practiced passing, dribbling, running with the ball and of course, shooting.
The day wouldn’t have been complete without the chance to then show-off their new skills, as all the youngsters took part in a mini tournament.
The Arsenal Soccer School is running every Saturday at Haverstock School. Children aged nine to 11 years old start at 10am, while 12 to 15 year olds get underway at 11.30pm. Sessions cost £3 each.
