Late kebabs ruled out

MIDNIGHT kebabs have been ruled out for a Kentish Town takeaway after Camden Council refused an application for it to open into the small hours.
Protesters have praised the decision by Camden’s licensing team to limit the hours of Erciyes Kebab, Kentish Town Road, to 11pm closing.
Rosemary Lewin, of Kelly Street Residents Association said: “We do not think it’s appropriate for a takeaway to be opening until 4 or 5am. We’re concerned with preserving the character of the Kentish Town area and very late openings won’t contribute to that.”
Camden Police also objected, citing a violent incident which occurred outside the shop.
Caroline Hill, of Kentish Town Road Action Group said: “The panel made absolutely the right decision. It will make things a lot more peaceful for residents.”
The shop’s manager was unavailable for comment.
