Campaigners’ Palestinian link plea

A life-saving medical clinic in the suburbs of Jerusalem is nicknamed Camden, councillors heard on Monday night.
Campaigners are pressing the borough to link with Abu-Dis, a Palestinian village which has had access to the Israeli city curbed by the construction of the security wall. They told councillors how projects funded by the campaign had made Camden a household name in the area.
Nandita Dowson, from the campaign group, said: “We have helped build and equip a community centre which was originally called Friendship House. It has become known locally simply as Camden.”
A clinic offering an out-of-hours emergency service has been dubbed the Camden Clinic, after the group paid for its equipment.
