Squatter set to face eviction

A SQUATTER who claims his presence has helped make the area safer for children has been given his marching orders by the courts.
Part-time London Underground engineer Daron Medlock, 37, turned a disused office next to a children’s playground in Malden Road, Queen’s Crescent, into a squat two years ago.
He says he has has helped to clear the area of drug dealers and is supported by a petition bearing the names of local shopkeepers.
Mr Medlock had offered to pay rent on the property but this had been rejected.
He is now expecting to be evicted by the end of the week.
