Tennis ace Ife grabs the glory

TENNIS ace Ife Kuchler (pictured) netted glory at the weekend to hold on to her crown in the Middlesex County Championships at Queen’s Tennis Club in west Kensington.
The 10-year-old, who lives in Elm Village, Camden Town, put on a fearsome display to win the 10 and under title, losing only two games throughout the competition.
Currently the second highest ranked 10-year-old in the country, Ife was also in devastating form as she competed against older challengers in the girls’ 12 and under singles.
Having advanced into the finals without losing a single game, Ife just missed out on her second Middlesex title of the weekend when she was beaten by Harriet Dart.
Ife, who trains for over 10 hours a week at the Islington Tennis Centre in Market Road, under the watchful eye of coach Leon Achille, was full of confidence despite missing out in the 12s and under final.
She said: “Don’t worry, I’ll win it next year.”
