‘Secret’ pay-out

THE size of the severance payout to former Town Hall chief lawyer Alison Lowton is being kept secret.
Officials have refused to disclose the figure under the Freedom of Information Act. It is also not being made available under the Audit Commission Act, legislation which calls on local authorities to open all their accounts to the public. The figure is widely rumoured to be in six figures.
