Battle of the belts for martial arts students

A NONE-competitive martial arts school handed out the honours this week as students passed its annual summer belt grading in Islington with flying colours,.Students from the West End and Islington Choi Kwang Do school (WICKD) were in action for over two and a half hours at the Half Moon Crescent Community Hall in Wynford Road.
Hoping to impress WICKD school owner and international examiner, Hugh Harper (Black Belt 4th Dan) and fellow examiner Dr Isioma Obuaya (Black Belt 3rd Dan), the students showed off their skills in Choi Kwang Do, a non-competitive martial art system.
Afterwards, Mr Harper, who runs classes for children and adults of all ages in Islington, Swiss Cottage and Holborn said: “It was a very thorough testing but everyone from the white belts grading for the first time, to our brown belts nearing the most advanced level, gave their all.”
