Cab robber jailed

A ROBBER who left his cabbie victim petrified was this week jailed for three years.
Cab driver Tariq Mohammed told an Old Bailey jury he feared being shot dead after three men jumped into his cab near Russell Square, Bloomsbury. He heard one of the men shout: “Drive or I’ll blow you to inferno” and saw what he believed to be a pistol pointed towards his neck.
Two of the men leapt out, leaving him with 21-year-old student Kwakou Bekoe, who snatched his mobile phone.
Bekoe, of Chamberlaine House, Phoenix Road, Somers Town, was still in possession of the phone when arrested on February 3.
He was convicted of robbery but cleared on a firearms charge.
