Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 23 August 2007

KNIFE CRIME

• I AM emailing you to say how angry I feel with the picture on the centre pages of the August 16 edition.
You are supposed to be showing the Camden youth festival, however you have spread over two pages the picture of a group of boys, singing, except one of them is singing holding a knife to his face!
I cannot understand why you have printed this picture, haven’t we had enough glamorising of violence without you publishing it.
I expect you to explain why you thought it acceptable to print this picture.
Name and address supplied

• Editor’s note: We are happy to confirm that the young man in the picture was brandishing an ice pop not a knife.

Send your letters to: The Letters Editor, Camden New Journal, 40 Camden Road, London, NW1 9DR or email to letters@camdennewjournal.co.uk. The deadline for letters is midday Tuesday. The editor regrets that anonymous letters cannot be published, although names and addresses can be withheld. Please include a full name, postal address and telephone number. Letters may be edited for reasons of space.
