Bail rejected for Spanish jail student

JOE Mendy, the Camden student extradited to Spain over counterfeit cash charges, has lost his appeal for early bail.
His family had hoped he would be allowed home before the Spanish courts closed for summer.
But by Friday – the last open day – his case had not yet been heard, little less than a month since he was extradited.
He will now stay in Madrid prison until the courts reopen in September.
