Hampstead youngsters bowled over with success

YOUNGSTERS from Hampstead School were bowled over this week after winning the Federation Year 10 and Year 11 Cricket Championships at Parliament Hill Fields.
Cricketers from the secondary school in Westbere Road powered their way to victory following a thrilling afternoon of testing six-over matches.
The Hampstead heroes stumped sides from William Ellis and South Camden Community School to capture the trophy.
Hampstead team captain William Davis was full of smiles when he was presented with the winning trophy by Federation Chairman, Paul Godfrey. Teammate Rishi Sharma was also celebrating after he hit four-sixes from five balls in the opening over to seal a magnificent win against William Ellis School.
Organised by senior PE teacher at William Ellis, James Rourke, the tournaments proved a huge success as talented young cricketers from Acland Burghley, Hampstead, William Ellis and South Camden Community School enjoyed the chance to play competitive cricket on a more regular basis.
The trophy triumph comes at a magnificent time for Hampstead after their Year 9 football team became the first side to win a major accolade for the school when they won the prestigious Louis Lewis Challenge Shield.
