Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 5 July 2007

Why can’t they walk?

• I DRIVE to work as a car is needed for my job.
I drive along Fitzjohn’s Avenue and through Hampstead which is just full of parents dropping their children off.
It’s a pleasure to drive when there is a school holiday.
I cannot understand why there is not a school bus where parents walk their child to a choice of pick-up points where the school bus will then take them directly to and from school. If the school bus has about 50 seats, imagine how much the traffic could be reduced.
Also, I thought children could only be admitted to a certain school if they were in the catchment area.
Therefore, if this is the case, why are children being driven to work? Why can’t they walk?
