Fair powers on as workmen cut through cable

Christopher Hatton School, in Laystall Street, powered on with its fundraising fun day after workmen cut through a cable.
Entertainment came in the shape of fortune teller Madam Rosita, who had failed to predict the power cut, while headteacher Gwen Lee set about proving the value of education with a gold-panning demonstration kit.
