Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published:28 June 2007

Quality hospital care

•  I HAVE been hospitalised twice at University College London Hospital in the past month.
In May, I was treated for a severe leg infection and stayed two weeks. Then this past week I have been hospitalised for treatment for a blood clot in my right lung.
The same teams on the eighth floor of UCLH first saved a leg and then my life. I am profoundly grateful to the exceptionally high care I received on both hospitalisations.
At all times, I felt reassured by the professionalism of both medical and nursing staff. Hospitalised before the outbreak of novo virus (Patients hit by hospital bug, June 14), I found that the cleaning staff were both thorough and assiduous in their duties. I developed no secondary infections.
My wife and three children, as well as myself, would like to thank all the staff at UCLH for their kindness, care and sensitivity. I would further like to thank the Ampthill
Square Medical Centre for their prompt and accurate diagnoses which led to both hospitalisations.
