New League kicks off

ALL the football action kicked off again on Friday when the first matches were played in the new Winchester League.
The seven-week league, run by the Winchester Project in Swiss Cottage, gives under-12s, 15s and 19s the chance to compete for a grand finals place next month.
Heading the way after the first games are SHFC from South Hampstead in the U-12s, Grange Park from Kilburn in the U-15s and Venue from West Hampstead Community Centre in the U-19s.
SHFC beat Winchtonians B 7-0 with goals from Devon Ossei-Manya (four), Tyrell Harding (two) and Kahari Valerie.
Grange Park beat Winchester B 4-0 through a Jordan Copeland hat-trick and Umer Khalid goal.
And Venue beat OK Club A 3-0 thanks to Taylan Sisecy’s hat-trick.

* THE Winch is also set to run World Cup finals for U-12s, U-15s and girls teams in July and August. For more information call Lily on 020 7586 8731 or email sport@winchesterproject.org.uk.
