Hazel Blears
We must spend more on renewable energy to break our reliance on gas and coal imported from unstable regimes, and to tackle climate change.

Jon Cruddas
I believe we should be increasing investment in renewable energy. The challenge of climate change brings with it new opportunities for new industries to develop, but for this we also need to invest in education, training and research.

Peter Hain
Yes. We need massive extra investment in renewable energy. Climate change is the biggest threat facing the world today, and investment in renewable energy is vital if we are to cut out carbon emissions.

Harriet Harman
I would press for us to spend much more on renewable energy and combine this with encouraging greater energy efficiency.

Alan Johnson
I think that over time, we need to focus more attention on renewable energy- to guarantee our energy security and, crucially, to play our part in tackling climate change.

Hllary Benn
Hilary Benn's response coming soon
