Champions celebrate honours

Camden and Islington Youth League

AN action-packed season came to a close on Friday at Market Road. In the under-9s north, a rampant St Pancras clinched the title with games to spare as they finished seven points clear of runners-up, Hawks
.
Meanwhile in the under-9s south, Hampstead remained undefeated as they finished six points ahead of Westway to be crowned champions.
With more 120 league goals between them, there was little surprise when St Pancras and Hampstead went head-to-head for the Alan Michael Brown Challenge Cup.
The match didn’t disappoint as the two teams battled out a 2-2 draw, with Hampstead going on to win the trophy after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out.
In the under-10s, Peel sealed a memorable league and Challenge Cup double.
With 11 wins and a draw, Peel finished eight points clear before going on to beat Lyndhurst Lions in the cup final.
In the under-10s B, EC1 Elite boasted a record of 10 wins and two draws as they remained unbeaten on their way to the title. Scoring an impressive 56 goals along the way, Elite finished seven points ahead of Highgate Rangers.
Just three points separated champions Angel Islington and second placed Peel in the under-11s A league – 21 points and 18 respectively.
Hawks are champions in the under-11s B, four points ahead of Lyndhurst Lions.
In a thrilling under-11s Challenge Cup final Hampstead Hawks beat Tufnell 3-2 to take the prize. Highbury Falcons won the under-12s A league, finishing four points ahead of Lyndhurst Eagles.
In the under-12s B, Tufnell finished ahead of Kentish United Elite by three points. A narrow 1-0 victory over FDS saw Bridge Rovers clinch the under-12s Challenge Cup.
In the under-13s A Elite Soccer finished just two points ahead of Brunswick. The under-13s B saw Park View Rangers win eight out of eight to finish nine points clear, scoring 68 and conceding just three league goals all season.
Park View also beat Elite Soccer 5-2 to take the Challenge Cup and seal the double.
Hampstead under-14s were unbeaten all season to wrap up a league and Challenge Cup double. The under-15s championship also went to an unbeaten side. Lyndhurst finished eight points clear.
