Magician gets the scoop on the CNJ

THE Camden New Journal took centre stage on Monday in an eerie night at the New End Theatre.
Ivor Cole, 30 years a libel lawyer for the Daily Mail, now a member of the Magic Circle, entertained a packed house in a two-night run.
Mr Cole, who is a neighbour of with Jonathan Ross in Hampstead Garden Suburb, had deposited a capsule in the New Journal vault on May 8. Inside were predictions for last week’s paper.
A representative of the paper was called on stage during the show. Mr Cole’s phantom prophecy was read aloud to the audience – it included:
n A very elderly man will achieve his lifetime ambition of gaining a top academic degree.
n A young student will be haunted by an incident which occurred many years ago.
n Chelsea will win the FA Cup Final 1-0, possibly a last minute victory.
The predictions, with spooky accuracy, matched reports in the Camden New Journal.
