Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 24 May 2007

Taking healthy interest

• WE are pleased Middlesex Hospital has decided to postpone the disposal of the Cayley Robinson paintings (Hospital paintings sale is delayed, May 17) but shocked that they remain committed to selling them off.
This is at variance with a commitment made by Peter Dixon, chair of the Trust, who in a letter to our association dated June 18, 2003, said: “While we would certainly not consider permanent disposal (underlining by the writer) it may be that their display and availability could be enhanced in an alternative context.”
It is clearly not too late to honour this unqualified undertaking and keep the paintings in the community.
MAX NEUFELD
Chairman, Charlotte Street Association
Tottenham Street, W1T
