Hampstead 3,
Headstone Manor 1

HAMPSTEAD sealed a League and League Cup double on Sunday when they beat Headstone Manor to finish joint top of the Middlesex Girls League.

Needing a win to finish the season level on points with Parkfield, the under-13s side were on the back foot five minutes after kick-off when the visitors grabbed an early goal.
But Hamps eventually broke the visitors stubborn resilience when skipper Georgia Kinsella set up Tara Campbell to level.
Shauna Magner hit home for 2-1 early in the second half and with player of the match Danielle Hayes repelling every attack, Hamps pushed on for the killer third.
Lucy Headford duly delivered as she rounded off the scoring to seal a memorable season for the glory girls.

HAMPSTEAD’S under-12s lost on penalties to Brentford in the Mini Soccer League Cup to finish their season runners-up in the League and Cup.

European Championship Qualifiers
England 4
Northern Ireland 0

TEENAGER Lianne Sanderson bagged her first goal for England as Hope Powell’s side cruised past Northern Ireland at Gillingham on Sunday.
The visitors, who are ranked 78 in the world to England’s 12, kept the home side at bay in a goalless first half.
But goals from Arsenal’s Kelly Smith, Katie Chapman and Sanderson, plus an own-goal, saw England dominate the second half and take three all-important points from this opening European qualifier.
England will be back in action tonight (Thurday) when they face Iceland in a friendly at Southend United.
Meanwhile, their Arsenal contingent will look to finish their season without dropping a single point when they face Leeds in London Colney on Sunday.

London Women 6, Spurs 1

SPURS concluded their season with a disappointing defeat to London Women but their survival in the Premier Division is assured.
Spurs were 3-0 down after 15 minutes but Mel Berry scored from the penalty spot to pull her side back into the game.
Two quick goals at the restart killed off hopes of a Spurs revival, who avoided relegation by finishing ninth in the 11 team league.
