Cash pours in for schools as bargain-hunters brave downfall

HUNDREDS of bargain-hunters queued in the rain for a charity sale at Rosslyn Hill Unitarian Chapel in Hampstead on Saturday.
The ‘nearly new’ sale was the fifth annual fundraiser by Hampstead Women’s Club, with proceeds this year going to Fitzjohn’s and New End schools in Hampstead.
Club president Lesley Gallagher said: “It’s become very popular. We had people queuing down the hill before we opened, despite the rain. People were coming in with armloads of stuff.”
