Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 17 May 2007

Labour should stop bleating

• NEARLY every week I read letters from The Gospel Oak Labour Branch always making negative remarks about the Lib Dem/Tory administration.

If they had done such a good job they wouldn’t have been kicked out after 35 years.
Sally Gimson’s (Labour branch) letter last week is always the same old spin about Tories privatising council housing. This maybe her Tory husband’s views but it’s certainly not any of our councillors in Gospel Oak views.
We will fight on behalf our residents to stop any privatisation on our council housing. We heard loud and clear their views on the Almo.
Let’s not forget we are in this position due to Labour government holding back money and we definitely do not want to be in this position in ten years.
I would also like to add to last week’s story ‘Lock Up Alcoholics For Their Own Good’ when I highlighted this at Health Scrutiny was because it’s a big concern in Camden.
I am not that naïve to think we can lock anybody up with an addiction. I’m more concerned that we section from the advice of their families in life/death situations only. I do agree with Cllr Arthur Graves on doing as much as we possibly can on alcohol education and care but people will die while we wait to secure funding.
