Barbecue ban leaves a bad taste

• IT was a work of genuine comedy genius.
Your reporter’s take on Flick Rea’s radio interview (Summer BBQ ban, May 3) showed up how silly the coal barbecue ban is and what a fun-spolier Flick really is being over this.
The minister for fun claims that she is fun, fun, fun, but the point she is missing is that barbecues have been part of community summer festivals for decades without anybody (or any dog) being hurt.
It wouldn’t take much for them to reverse the policy.
I think everybody would find it refreshing if, instead of coming up with silly excuses, she or somebody else at the town hall just admitted they messed things up and reverse the policy.
