Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 26 April 2007

Time to be good sport, Mayor

• ONCE upon a time, I would have trusted Ken Livingstone to save the Talacre Sports Centre from the clutches of the private developer at Dalby Street by ordering a public inquiry (Let’s hope Ken kicks park plan into touch, April 19).
This is something which the Mayor certainly should do.
But what are we to think of him having given a job to Peter Bishop as his chief design director for London?
The former head of planning in Camden was responsible for the Dalby Street scheme.
I would be extremely surprised, therefore, if Ken chose to recommend a public inquiry into the road closure scheme at Dalby Street.
If he did, then I would review my judgement about him and gladly vote for him at next year’s mayoral election.
