Women hunted by vicious gang

A VICIOUS gang that threatened to stab a pregnant woman in the stomach during a robbery campaign against vulnerable women is still at large, police warned this week.
The three men, who detectives believe ‘case’ affluent streets in search of women to rob, have struck three times this year in Hampstead and West Hampstead.
In their most violent attack, in Sumatra Road on March 7, the men strangled a 34-year-old woman until she passed out and stole her platinum and diamond rings and bag as her young son looked on.
They also threatened to knife a nine-months pregnant 31-year-old woman in the stomach when she struggled to remove her wedding and engagement rings in an attack in Langsland Gardens at lunchtime on February 27.
A 35-year-old woman, also with young children, was robbed of her rings in Willow Road on February 26.
Detectives have linked the three crimes and appealed for witnesses.
Det Constable Kito Johnson said: “We believe that the victims are being observed for a short period of time by robbers who have a ‘feel’ for the area. These are nasty robberies.”
Police have urged anyone with information to call Camden robbery squad on 020 87336961 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
